In wearable communication, wearable devices should have low power consumption and low transmission delays. These wearable devices should be able to collect, interpret, transmit and exchange data with other wearable devices. In addition, the success of wearable communication also depends on the networking architecture that supports the transmission. Therefore, the selection of antenna is one of the important element that needs to be considered in wearable communication.
Wearable Textile Antenna, Patch Antenna
Micro-strip patch antenna is a suitable candidate for wearable textile antennas as it is a flexible, planar and directional antenna that could reduce radiations towards the body. In textile micro-strip patch antenna, the radiating patch is placed on top of the dielectric substrate and the ground plane is placed on other side of the substrate. In this project, we simulate antenna design with CST simulation software, and setting up the system for sensing and transmitting ECG signals from the athlete using the designed wearable textile antenna.
